German Short Ribs

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1/8 tsp pepper

  • 3 pounds beef short ribs

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 1/2 cup chili sauce

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 3 tbsp vinegar

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard

  • 1/2 tsp chili powder

  • 2 tbsp flour

  • 1/4 cup water

Directions

  • In a small bowl, combine 2 tbsp of flour, salt, and pepper. Coat the short ribs with the flour mixture
  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Brown short ribs in olive oil
  • In a slow cooker, combine remaining ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Transfer the short ribs from the skillet to the slow cooker
  • Cover, and cook on low for 6-8 hours
  • Remove ribs and tent. Reserve sauce
  • Mix the remaining 2 tbsp of flour with 1/4 water. Add Sauce. Thicken
