Ingredients
6 eggs, separated
3/4 cup sugar
2 cups milk
1 to 1-1/2 cups cognac or brandy (half if you don’t want
strong eggnog)1/4 cup rum
2 cups heavy cream
Nutmeg
Directions
- In a bowl, beat egg yolks until they lighten in color
- Gradually add sugar and continue to beat until completely dissolved
- Add the milk, cream, alcohol, and nutmeg and stir to combine
- Place the egg whites in a bowl and beat to soft peaks
- Gradually add 1 tbsp of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form
- Whisk the egg whites into the mixture
- Chill and serve
