Eggnog

Ingredients

  • 6 eggs, separated

  • 3/4 cup sugar

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1 to 1-1/2 cups cognac or brandy (half if you don’t want
    strong eggnog)

  • 1/4 cup rum

  • 2 cups heavy cream

  • Nutmeg

Directions

  • In a bowl, beat egg yolks until they lighten in color
  • Gradually add sugar and continue to beat until completely dissolved
  • Add the milk, cream, alcohol, and nutmeg and stir to combine
  • Place the egg whites in a bowl and beat to soft peaks
  • Gradually add 1 tbsp of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form
  • Whisk the egg whites into the mixture
  • Chill and serve
