Avocado Salsa

Ingredients

  • 3 avocados

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 onion

  • 3 habanero chilli peppers

  • 3 limes

  • Salt to taste

  • Water as necessary

Directions

  • In a small pan, roast the habanero peppers over medium high heat.  Turn them occasionally so all sides are blackened
  • Remove from heat and pour water over chillies to soak a few minutes
  • Remove the seeds
  • Cut the avocados in half and remove the pits.  Save pits for later.  Scoop the avocado from its skins into a blender
  • Add the garlic, onion, habaneros, and lime juice
  • Blend until smooth.  It will be thick at this point
  • Add salt to taste and some water to achieve desired consistency.  It should be thick and not runny
  • Store in airtight container with avocado pits added on the top.  This will help prevent the salsa from darkening or turning brown
